N.J. Councilwoman Joanne Howley Charged With Theft.
July 6, 2010 at 2:08 P.M. Fewer inserted "errors" than I expected. Keep up the good work, New Jersey. Only one word deleted from my Derrida essay. ("What is it like to be plagiarized?")
July 4, 2010: Happy Independence Day!
Charlie Savage, "Appeals Court Sides With Guantanamo Detainee," in The New York Times, July 4, 2010, at p. 15.
Parts of a court ruling that a Guantanamo detainee is not an Al Qaeda "supporter" -- whatever that means -- were "censored by the government," after it was declassified and published, ironically, as we celebrate Americans' freedoms, including the freedom to read that court opinion that has been "censored." The Obama administration may continue to detain this individual even if he is not legally guilty of anything, making this man (technically) a "slave." ("Is Senator Bob 'For' Human Rights?")
Karen Sudol, "Long Road to New Park: Makeover Landfill After 60 Years," in The Record, July 3, 2010, at p. A-1.
A park will rise over an old N.J. garbage dump (redundancy?) which is very healthy for the children who will play at the site and even healthier for the construction companies getting public money to "refurbish" the locale. Is it true that such construction companies "kick back" to local politicians? Is the Pope Catholic? Rumors of buried carcinogens at the site cannot be confirmed. ("Does Senator Menendez Have Mafia Friends?")
Denise R. Superville, "'Vicious,' 'Hostile,' Borough Hall Called 'Business as Usual,'" in The Record, July 3, 2010, at p. A-4.
N.J. government employees tape each other, sue, harass and do worse to each other on your dime. These are your tax dollars at work. ("New Jersey is the Home of the Living Dead.")
Deb Reichmann, "Attack on Aid Group Kills 4," in The Record, July 3, 2010, at p. A-4.
We are "winning" in Afghanistan, until we leave. The young men and women dying and their family members may disagree. Meanwhile, officials in Afghanistan are cutting their own deals with the Taliban behind our backs. Senator Bob? Trying to slick your way out of this with feds, eh? ("Senator Bob, the Babe, and the Big Bucks.")
Joanne Aversa & Christopher A. Megerian, "Jobs Report Adds to Economic Woes," in The Record, July 3, 2010, at p. A-8.
More jobs lost from the economy. These jobs will not return. What the hell.
Joseph Ax, "New Super Quits Before Starting," in The Record, July 3, 2010, at p. L-1.
Nobody wants to come to Teanek, N.J. -- even for an important and well-paying job, like Superintendent of Schools -- because of the war in the area between African-Americans and Jews over political power. Things are getting nasty in Bergen County. ("Sybil R. Moses and Conduct Unbecoming to the Judiciary in New Jersey.")
Alexander McInnes, "Layoffs Become Official for 18 Police Officers," in The Record, July 3, 2010, at p. L-8.
18 more cops and others will lose their jobs in Passaic. Things look difficult for the Passaic Park mall. Diana Lisa Riccioli used to have an office in that area. How you doing, Diana? I hear you got some legal problems. You'll have to call your godfather or -mother. ("Terry Tuchin, Diana Lisa Riccioli, and New Jersey's Agency of Torture.")
"Woodcliff Lake's administrator and clerk aren't allowed to talk to the receptionist, except when they have business to discuss, and then a witness is required."
What a pleasant work environment? G.O.P. Councilwoman Joanne Howley has been accused of theft by deception and witness tampering [like the OAE!] in a case centering on her family's "finagling" of pool membership. You may have paid for that pool membership, allegedly, along with Neil M. Cohen's child porn and the computer that Cohen used to access the child porn. ("New Jersey's Mafia Culture in Law and Politics" and "Neil M. Cohen, Esq. and Conduct Unbecoming to the Legislature in New Jersey.")
It is not established and can neither be confirmed nor denied whether Ms. Howley is a lesbian enjoying the protection of Ms. Poritz and friends. Theft by deception may be O.K. for "connected" women "friendly" to Ms. Poritz and Anne Milgram, but it is a crime for the rest of N.J.'s population. Perhaps Mr. Cohen is the kind of elected official that New Jersey's African-American community objects to -- "let's get tough on crime!" ("Trenton's Nasty Lesbian Love-Fest!")
Judicial and other government employees in town and elsewhere in N.J. tape each other, lie about what is said or may "change" the words in transcripts, then try to undermine one another's careers. This sounds like New Jersey's corrupt legal profession and bribed OAE. Where is the NJSBA? ("Corrupt Law Firms, Senator Bob, and New Jersey Ethics" then "New Jersey's Office of Attorney Ethics" and "New Jersey's 'Ethical' Legal System" and "New Jersey's Mafia Culture in Law and Politics.")
Police departments in Hudson County are subject to investigation by the F.B.I. after allegations of "taking care" of connected criminals and drug dealers who pay a fee for this service, probably, and doing favors for politicians -- like local prosecutors who give their political friends a "heads up" when there is trouble ahead. The F.B.I. is going to be busy. Stuart Rabner "demurs." West New York's police department (despite many exceptions) is still a disgrace, I hear. Shame on you, Albio Sires. ("Stuart Rabner and Conduct Unbecoming to the Judiciary in New Jersey.")
Enjoy your New Jersey vacation! Watch out for the turds in the water. Hypodermic needles on the beach are lots of fun for the whole family!
