The Queen of Hearts and the Butterfly.

A gambler once threw away a deck of cards, except for the Queen of Hearts which was placed in the window to his home for good luck. A butterfly came along and was drawn to the bright colors of the playing card. The butterfly's gold seemed to match perfectly the red of the Queen of Hearts. Every day the butterfly would hover before the card in the window without being able to reach the Queen of Hearts. One day the butterfly flew again and again into the glass of the window, damaging his wings, until night began to fall -- the night fell quickly and was utterly dark -- as the butterfly grew weaker, his colors began to fade and he felt the darkness engulfing him, except for the brilliance of the colors of the Queen of Hearts. Her colors and beauty were the last things he remembered. ("The Soldier and the Ballerina.")
