N.J.'s Frank DelVecchio's Conflict of Interest.

Jean Rembach, "Deputy Chief Juggled Two Jobs: Was Executive at Troubled Firm," in The Record, July 10, 2011, at p. A-1.

"For nearly three years, Fairview Police Chief Frank DelVecchio moonlighted as a top executive for a Morris County start-up, travelling around [promoting] the company's new child-safety device and rising to become its $250,000.00-a-year CEO."

Mr. DelVecchio was also "reimbursed" $5,400-a-month for another "enterprise," a sum which was not listed as income, reportedly, leading to an SEC investigation and, very likely, an IRS investigation soon.

How's tricks, Mr. Garcia?

A N.J. police chief becomes a paid employee of a shady corporation that is subsequently charged with numerous criminal scams and frauds. This police chief also happened to be a New Jersey attorney, allegedly, subject to ethical constraints concerning "conflicts of interest." ("New Jersey's Politically Connected Lawyers On the Tit.")

Does Mr. Rabner have a conflict of interest in my matters that he has chosen to ignore for a small fee or political reasons, perhaps? ("No More Lies and Cover-Ups, Chief Justice Rabner!")

How will Mr. DelVecchio investigate himself as an executive of this nefarious company? Or will DelVecchio ignore alleged criminality that involves his employers and colleagues in this civil enterprise?

"The founder of AMER Ready, Inc. is under indictment for theft charges. ..."

Taxpayers are, once again, the primary victims of the cronyism in New Jersey law enforcement and politics. Cronyism among lawyers, judges and politicians is what I call "unethical" and shameful. Do you speak to me of "ethics," gentlemen? ("Stuart Rabner's Selective Sense of Justice" and "New Jersey's Office of Attorney Ethics.")

Sadly, this spectacle is typical of N.J.'s political-legal system. No one doubts that, along with DelVecchio, a number of politicians were receiving kickbacks from this corrupt enterprise, allegedly, of course. ("Menendez Charged With Selling His Office.")

These so-called "security consultants" were able to enlist the "cooperation" of law enforcement officers by providing cops with an opportunity to make extra income.

The mafia likes to do the same: After all, offering New Jersey police officers a 'bribe," as it were, makes good business sense. ("Mafia Influence in New Jersey Courts and Politics.")

I would rather pay police officers more money, legally, to make these kinds of associations less attractive or necessary for them. With all the money being stolen, every day, by politicians in New Jersey, for some reason,  paying police or teachers more in wages is not an option since there would be less money in the public treasury that might be stolen in the future. ("Law and Ethics in the Soprano State" and "New Jersey is the Home of the Living Dead.")

Not surprisingly, this latest corrupt New Jersey law enforcement officer, DelVecchio (friend of Terry Tuchin?), resides in Ridgewood, New Jersey which is famous for having a low number of African-American residents, also allegedly. I encourage African-Americans to move into town. Does Cardinale live in Ridgewood? ("More Trouble for Ridgewood, New Jersey.")

" ... the 42-year-old Ridgewood resident" -- he doesn't live in Fairview? I guess he knows something we don't! -- "attended board meetings, pitched the [bogus] product on both coasts, filmed a commercial and took part in a celebrity-studded Times Square promotional event that spanned three days and cost an estimated $2 MILLION."

Along with the Essex County Executive whose exploits will be detailed soon -- including the drawing of both a salary and pension at the same time -- Mr. DelVecchio is using his public office for personal gain in violation of state law and legal ethics. ("New Jersey's 'Ethical' Legal System" and "Jennifer Velez is a Dyke Magnet!")

A list of sources itemizing recent examples of further New Jersey political and legal corruption, including ethical hypocrisy and non-enforcement of rules of legal practice will be attached to this essay soon from public computers. (Da Capo! "Law and Ethics in the Soprano State.")

Is this incident involving Mr. DelVecchio an example of New Jersey's continuing commitment to "legal ethics," Mr. Rabner, or to integrity in government, or a sign of your tribunal's attitude to legality? ("Stuart Rabner and Conduct Unbecoming to the Judiciary in New Jersey" and "Deborah T. Poritz and Conduct Unbecoming to the Judiciary in New Jersey.")
